Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) and the future development of Costa Rica
|
Authors: Ricardo Monge and John Hewitt, enero 2006 This document presents empirical evidence about the role of ICTs in reaching greater levels of development and wellbeing, especially in developing countries. In addition, access to and use of ICTs, in particular computers and the Internet, is studied in Costa Rica using census data from the years 2000, 2001 and 2003. The analysis is performed from two complementary perspectives: firstly, access to and use of ICTs in households and secondly, ICT access and use by elementary school children in Costa Rica, for the three years mentioned. |
